About
About China Prospect
China Prospect is a reference for companies that buy goods made in China: which rules apply to a product, what they cost, and the dates on which they change.
Who publishes it
China Prospect is published by Vexidus Corporation, a holding company in aerospace and defense manufacturing, supply-chain software and security. Its companies buy components and move freight, so these are questions we have to answer for ourselves.
What it covers, and what it leaves out
- It covers published rules: tariffs, export licensing, tax-credit conditions and import bans, in the United States, the European Union and China.
- It does not profile companies, rate suppliers or name individuals. Where a rule names a company, the page points to the official list instead of repeating it.
- It does not forecast what a government will decide. Where a date depends on a decision that has not been announced, the page says so.
How the pages are written
- Every rate, threshold and date is taken from the document that sets it: a statute, a regulation, an agency notice or an official announcement. The source is linked beside the statement.
- Chinese measures are described only from an official English text or a named English translation, and the page says which.
- Where sources disagree, or where only a secondary source could be found, the page says that instead of choosing one silently.
- Each page carries the date its content was last checked. Trade rules change at short notice, so read the source before acting on a date.
- Nothing here is legal, customs or tax advice. Classification, origin and credit eligibility turn on the facts of a product and a transaction; confirm them with a customs broker or counsel.
